This notice covers TripKindly’s website, the free introduction chat, paid travel advice and emails with TripKindly.
01. Who we are
TripKindly provides independent travel advice for Mauritius, Rodrigues and selected areas of Thailand. TripKindly decides how the information described here is used.
For anything about your information, email tripkindly2309@gmail.com.
02. Information collected
- Your name, email address, WhatsApp number and preferred language.
- Your destination, travelling group size and the support you ask for.
- Booking dates and times, the package chosen and your booking reference.
- Free introduction chat messages, messages you send with a change or cancellation request, and the travel adviser’s notes about your booking.
- Payment and refund references and statuses from PayPal (for example amounts, dates and PayPal’s transaction numbers). Your card details and PayPal login are never seen or stored by this website.
- Which version of the Booking Terms you agreed to, a fingerprint of that exact text and the time you agreed.
- An activity idea, if you choose one from the activity pages.
- Security and delivery records: verification-code requests (with a scrambled form of your IP address), email delivery statuses and a log of booking actions.
Please don’t send health details, identity documents or children’s documents. If something about a traveller’s needs matters for the advice, a short description is enough.
03. Why it is used
To verify your email, arrange and provide the introduction or paid advice you ask for, take and check payments, handle changes, cancellations and refunds, send booking emails, keep the service secure and keep the records needed for accounting.
Your contact details, booking details and email address are needed to provide a booking; without them it can’t go ahead. An activity idea is optional. Information isn’t used for newsletters, advertising or analytics.
Agreeing to the Booking Terms is about the booking rules; it isn’t a consent to marketing.
04. Automatic checks
The website applies the booking rules automatically:
- whether you have already used the free introduction (one per customer);
- which start times are available, and whether a held time has expired;
- whether PayPal has confirmed your payment, and whether a cancellation request arrived at least an hour before the start;
- whether WhatsApp support is open for your booking.
These are fixed rules, not profiling. If you think a check got something wrong, email tripkindly2309@gmail.com and the travel adviser will review it personally.
05. Who else handles information
- Supabase stores the website’s booking records and runs the email-code sign-in.
- Resend sends booking emails.
- PayPal processes payments and refunds. PayPal’s own privacy notice applies to your PayPal account.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries paid-support conversations once you open WhatsApp and send a message.
- Google (Gmail) holds emails you send to TripKindly and booking alerts sent to the travel adviser.
- The website’s hosting provider runs the website and its scheduled tasks.
Some of these providers process information outside Mauritius.
06. How long it is kept
- Introduction chat messages and related notes: 90 days after the introduction is completed or closed.
- Paid booking details, advice content, plans and activity ideas: six calendar months after your support ends or your booking is cancelled.
- Payment, refund and accounting records: at least five years after the payment or refund, then reviewed. They are kept separately from your messages.
- If you complete the free introduction, a minimal record is kept so it can be used only once. It is reviewed periodically.
- Records needed for an open complaint or dispute are kept, with a documented reason, until it is resolved.
Short-lived technical records, such as verification-code requests and email delivery details, are kept only as long as needed for security and delivery.
Removing website records doesn’t remove copies elsewhere: TripKindly removes its own WhatsApp and email copies on the same schedule, but copies in your WhatsApp, inbox or downloads stay with you, and providers’ backups expire on their own schedules.
07. Your rights and requests
You can ask to see your information, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how it is used. Email tripkindly2309@gmail.com from the address you booked with.
TripKindly may confirm the request with a reply to that address or a fresh email code, and asks for anything more only when it is really needed. You’ll normally receive an answer within one month. If something has to be kept — for example accounting records or information about an open dispute — the answer explains what and why.
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, please tell TripKindly first. You can also complain to the Data Protection Office of Mauritius (opens in a new tab).
09. Children and travelling groups
The person who books must be 18 or over and acts as the contact for the group. Families are welcome: the number of children and their age ranges are enough when they matter for the advice. Names, birth dates or documents aren’t needed.
If you share details about other travellers, please share only what the advice needs and let them know about this notice.
10. Changes to this notice
When this notice changes, the review date at the top changes too.
